Dr. Deniz Akyurekli | Founder
As President and Chief Medical Officer of the Centre for Personal Enhancement Dr. Akyurekli plays a fundamental role in ensuring clients, employees and partners of the Centre experience the values which it upholds.

Dr. Akyurekli is known for his 'down to earth' demeanor, sensible incremental approach, artistic sensibility and unsurpassed technical ability.
The son of an artist (Halide Akyurekli) and accomplished Heart Surgeon (Dr. Yasar Akyurekli) Dr. Akyurekli inherited and cultivated both his artistic and scientific qualities.
It has been his lifelong dream to help improve people’s quality of life through cosmetic enhancement.
Dr. Akyurekli specializes in surgery of the face and neck. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at the University of Ottawa graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1989. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from medicine in 1993 and completed residency training in Otolaryngology head and neck surgery and became a fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1998.
In 1998 he joined The Department of Surgery at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre in Owen Sound.
He was the Chief of Surgery from 2000-2003. In 2002 he became a diplomat of The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and founded The Centre For Personal Enhancement.
He performs over 1000 surgical cases a year and remains up to date with evolving techniques and technologies in order to offer his clients the most effective and proven services and products.

Dr. Van Wyck completed his medical school training and Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Western Ontario, in London Ontario.
Dr. Van Wyck then went on to complete a registered specialty Fellowship at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto under Dr J. Gruss as well as at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota under the direction of Dr I. Jackson. During this time he received a Certificate of Merit for his involvement in research publications.
He became a Plastic Surgeon in 1988 as a qualified member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and subsequently became a member of the:
- Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons
- American Society of Plastic Surgeons
- Canadian Society of Aesthetic Surgeons
- American Society of Aesthetic Surgeons
Since his appointment in 1988, as an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and previous Acting Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Civic Hospital, his interests have been directed towards the cosmetic surgery side of his specialty. This focus demands that he maintain on- going educational exposure in the form of meetings and courses. New advances in the form of laser technology and skin care management as well as variations in surgical procedures continue to evolve in his efforts to improve surgical outcomes. Dr. Van Wyck has spent time and effort incorporating many of these new advances into his own practice. As a reflection of his efforts in maintaining his level of standards, he was both previledged and honoured this past year to have received the Consumers Choice Award in the Cosmetic Surgery Category.
