Surgical Centre
The goal of the physicians and staff at the Owen Sound Surgical Centre is to provide the highest standard of patient care so that patients and their families are ensured a comfortable and safe anesthetic and surgical experience.
The Owen Sound Surgical Centre was founded in 2003 by Dr. Deniz Akyurekli, MD, FRCSC and Dr. David Hatcher, MD, FRCSC. The facility was created to facilitate the comprehensive surgical services offered at the Centre for Personal Enhancement.
The Surgical Centre began functioning as an independent health care facility in June 2004. Surgical cases have included facial cosmetic, general plastic, oral, dental extractions and restorations as well as periodontal surgery.
In July 2005, the Surgical Centre achieved accreditation status from the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities. Accreditation is a voluntary mark of quality that the owners and staff consider extremely important to patients and families.
The Surgical Centre offers state-of-the-art surgical theatres and a post anesthetic care unit. All anesthesiologists are members of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and are also certified by the Ontario Royal College of Dental Surgeons.
The surgeons who operate at the facility are Royal College certified and hold surgical privileges at an Ontario hospital. Nursing staff are highly trained professionals with a friendly and professional attitude.
