All You Need to Know About Coolsculpting

CoolSculpting is method that has been developed eliminate fat in different areas of the body. The scientific name of this method is cryolipolysis.

Each CoolSculpting session is about 40-60 minutes in length. At your initial consultation, you will be advised of the number of treatments you will require, but most of the time, only one treatment is required per area. There is no downtime.

The results from CoolSculpting are permanent because fat cells are eliminated not just reduced in size. However, certain areas may require more than one treatment, and this will be discussed at your consultation appointment. Results will vary from individual to individual and the area treated, but generally, the fat reduction ranges from 20-40%.

As mentioned above, the results of CoolSculpting are permanent. Some areas like the abdominal area (stomach) may need more than one session to optimize results. However, future weight gain may lead to fat cells growing in areas that were treated previously.

This method freezes fat cells which are then broken down and eliminated from the body over a period of 4-6 months. However, the fat can return if you gain weight after the procedure as new fat cells may be produced.  

CoolSculpting is effective on belly fat. However, this area may require more than one treatment session. The number of sessions needed to achieve your goals will be discussed at your initial consultation.
Both CoolSculpting and liposuction remove fat cells from the body. However, CoolSculpting is non-invasive, not painful and is ideal when small amounts of fat are removed giving mild to moderate results. In contrast, liposuction is a surgical procedure which is used to remove large amounts of fat and results can be quite dramatic. Your doctor will help you determine which procedure is right for you and your overall cosmetic goals.
Generally speaking, CoolSculpting procedures are not painful. Some clients have reported stinging and/or tugging sensations, but nothing unmanageable.
Because unwanted fat cells are removed from the abdominal area, CoolSculpting may result in a smaller waist size. Some clients report that they have lost a few inches in this area with this treatment.

The goal of CoolSculpting is to contour the body by eliminating unwanted fat cells in certain areas. When the fat cells are removed, clients may notice the are 2-5 pounds lighter. It is important to understand that this treatment is not a weight loss treatment.

CoolSculpting is most effective at targeting subcutaneous fat (right under the skin). The procedure is most often used in the “love handle” or flanks, the belly, inner/outer thighs, under the chin, back and the bra line areas.

CoolSculpting is not designed for individuals who want to lose several pounds or are overweight or obese. Typically, best results are seen in clients who have stubborn fat that cannot be lost regardless of diet or exercise programs they are following.

CoolSculpting is an effective method of reducing fat, After the procedure is performed, it may take up to 4-6 months for the fat cells to be eliminated. On average, there is a 20% reduction of fat in the treated area.

The cost of CoolSculpting in the chin area will depend on the size of the area to be treated, the size of the applicator and the desired result. The exact cost will be discussed with you during your consultation appointment. On average, the cost may be approximately $1400. 

Because this area requires a larger applicator and, usually, more than one treatment, the cost can be on average approximately $1500 per session. Again, the number of treatments and the cost will be discussed with you during your personal consultation.

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive and non-surgical procedure compared to liposuction which is a surgical procedure. As a result, the cost of CoolSculpting has a lower price point than liposuction.
