Recovery

Recovering patients will be sore and often require assistance or the first post-op week. Assistance is required for simple movements like sitting, standing, rolling over and getting into bed. For six weeks following surgery, heavy lifting (more than ten pounds) is to be avoided; so some people might need to arrange help with small children. To ensure that your recovery is as smooth as possible, we will give you very detailed post-op instructions. After six weeks, your belly will appear firmer and more contoured, and your abdominal muscles should be healed.
